2024 Lantern Project in Uzbekistan
We produced a collection of lanterns for this Uzbekistan project, from a flower-covered entrance to garden scenes and patterned sculptural pieces. Follow the illuminated displays, then see the workshop details behind the forms.

Ocean Art Lantern made the lantern installations for this 2024 project. The collection brings together tall flowers, animals, tree forms and decorative objects, with an entrance that introduces the floral theme.
The night views on this page are still frames from our project video collection. They show how the individual pieces appear together: some rise above the path, while others form lower scenes that can be viewed from nearby.
Arriving and walking through
Flowers shape the entrance and the path
A wide illuminated gateway frames the entrance. A blue butterfly sits among the flowers at one side, adding a close-up detail beside the larger arch.
Farther along, blue and violet stems bend toward the walkway. Smaller leaves line the edges below them. The difference in height gives the path a recognizable outline without making every piece the same size.
The displays at night
Distinct scenes across the garden
A peacock stands above layered green forms and pink flowers. Another scene combines a mushroom house with small animals. The taller tree character has a face in its trunk, while a separate branching display carries individual butterflies.
Each group has its own silhouette: a spread of feathers, a broad mushroom roof, a tree canopy or fine branching lines. Beside the curved water feature, tall stems, flowers and birds add reflections to the view.

From our workshop to the display
The floral jug and patterned cups
The blue jug provides a clear connection between the workshop and the illuminated display. Its curved spout, handle and raised flower decoration are visible in both views. The green cups carry bands and leaf-shaped patterns that remain recognizable when lit.
At the venue, the jug sits with cups in different colors, linked visually by arcs of light. In the workshop, the separate pieces reveal their surface patterns and curved shapes at closer range.

Workshop details
Shaping, covering and finishing the pieces
Our workshop photographs show different kinds of handwork. At the workbench, a worker welds slender frame members. In another view, green covering is fitted around a curved plant form, with part of the underlying framework still visible.
The floral vessel detail shows airbrushed shading around a petal, with a small shield held beside the working area. These close views make the individual operations easier to see than the finished night scenes alone.
In our workshop
A long dragon form in the making
This orange dragon rests on supports in our workshop. Its long body, raised head and repeating scales extend across the floor, with people and surrounding equipment providing a sense of scale.
The workshop view shows the curve of the body and the details along its length, from the layered scales to the whiskers around the head.

This project combines an entrance feature, flower-lined paths and distinct sculptural groups rather than repeating a single form throughout. If you have a venue or theme in mind, talk with us about the lantern pieces you would like to create.
