Project fit
What makes a venue suitable for a commercial lantern festival?
A suitable venue has a workable display area or visitor route, an operating season, defined audience goals and enough site information to begin scope discussion. The right format may be a full route, a series of destination zones or a smaller seasonal attraction.
Route width, viewing distance, landscape features, access, power, weather exposure and local operating rules determine which format fits the site.

Product and route scope
How should lantern product families be selected?
Select product families by what each route zone must achieve. Animal and botanical groups can establish themed worlds; tunnels and arches create transitions; iconic sculptures support arrival or finale impact; water-edge displays use reflections and shoreline viewpoints.
Scale, product quantity and customization depend on available space, viewing distance, route rhythm, access and the venue’s theme direction.

Site, operations and responsibility
Who handles local approvals and event operations?
We can provide design, lantern manufacturing, packing, transport and installation as an agreed project package. We coordinate our work with your venue and local contractors so access, utilities and installation arrangements are clear.
Your venue or qualified local partners need named ownership for local permissions, utility connection, public-safety review, ticketing, staffing, security, insurance, daily operations and crowd management.
Cost and RFP inputs
Why does a custom lantern festival need project inputs before pricing?
Project cost is shaped by route length or display area, product mix, size and quantity, customization, lighting integration, packing and transport, site access, installation conditions, documentation needs and responsibility boundaries.
A useful RFP states the venue, target season, route assumptions, desired product roles, site constraints, procurement stage and decision process so suppliers compare the same scope assumptions.

Process and timing
How are custom lanterns made?
After design approval, we develop the construction and lighting details, lay out the shapes, make the supporting steelwork and wire framework, and install lights and wiring. Fabric covering and painting create the surface; trial assembly and lighting checks come before numbering and packing.
Tell us your intended opening date early. Design development, fabrication, approvals, shipping and site access all affect the working schedule.
Design the display
Agree the theme, appearance, dimensions and site needs.
Build the form
Scale layouts, supporting steelwork and shaped wire frames.
Add light and colour
Lighting, wiring, fabric covering and painted details.
Check and prepare delivery
Trial assembly, lit appearance, module identification and packing.
Common follow-up questions
Your questions about design, production and use
Can you make lanterns from our reference image or theme?
Yes. We can develop your references into a lantern design suited to the available space and intended viewing distance. Share the image, location, approximate size and opening date. For branded characters or other protected artwork, the appropriate usage rights also need to be confirmed.
How do you keep the finished lantern close to the approved design?
We carry the agreed proportions and colours through detailed drawings, scale layouts, frame shaping and surface work. Daylight and illuminated checks help us assess the silhouette, facial details, fabric seams, painted transitions and light distribution before dispatch.
Can the lanterns include movement, sound or interaction?
These functions can be developed for suitable designs. Tell us what the visitor should do and what should happen in response. Motion range, visitor separation, trigger frequency, noise, power and servicing access affect the design and controls.
Can the lanterns be used outdoors?
We can develop an outdoor configuration for the venue. Rain, drainage, wind exposure, temperature, sunlight, foundations, electrical connections and access for checks all matter. Materials, protection and any required testing must suit the specific design and destination.
How are large lanterns transported and installed?
Large forms can be divided into transportable sections. We plan the module joints, identification, surface protection and loading sequence alongside the installation method. Your project package defines our installation work and the local access, lifting, foundations and power arrangements.
What maintenance and storage do lanterns need?
Care depends on the materials, controls, environment and exhibition period. Agree routine checks, cleaning, fault reporting and technical support before opening. After the event, dry and protect components, keep modules identifiable and inspect or repair them before reuse.
What affects the quotation?
Size, quantity, design complexity, lighting or motion features, materials, packing, destination and installation services all affect cost. A reference image, site information and target date help us prepare a quotation around the same set of requirements.
What documents should we request for procurement?
Tell us the product configuration, destination and documents your venue requires. We can then discuss the relevant drawings, material information, test or qualification documents and their applicable scope. Certificate wording must match the product and requirement it supports.
